Intermediate Rhino 3D for Jewelers - Fall Session

Work with jeweler Arthur Hash to get an in-depth look into jewelry modeling techniques use in the industry. 

Course Description

This 3 week (6 day) workshop is a continuation of our Intro to Rhino3D (Level 1) and will specifically focus on the design and modeling of jewelry and related products. Students will learn new tools by creating more complex geometry and engaging in more intricate designs to incorporate into their personal work. By the end of this workshop students will gain a deeper understanding of Rhino3D and its capacity for jewelers and metalsmiths. After each session students will have access to online content such as instructional outlines, sample modeling files, presentations with animated gifs, and videos of each live session. Students will retain access to this information for six months starting on the first day of class.

If you do not already own Rhino/have it installed, please wait to download it and install it. There is a free trial version available at www.rhino3d.com that has a 90 day trial period.

*It is recommended that you have completed our Intro to Rhino 3D or a course equivalent before signing up for this workshop

* The instructor will be teaching using the Mac version of Rhino 3D 6.0. Students using the PC version of Rhino 3D should inform the us prior to the workshop to receive key command translation sheet.
*All student will need a mouse for this workshop. Preferably a multi-button mouse with a wheel.

Hi, I’m Arthur!

⁠For the last fifteen years Arthur has taught digital fabrication and Jewelry courses at multiple universities across the country including the Rhode Island School of Design, Virginia Commonwealth University and State University of New York in New Paltz. Arthur has managed/operated multiple digital fabrication/metals facilities including Makerbot Innovation Centers, Digital Design and Fabrication certificate programs and MIT Fab Labs.
